<p><em>La Renault Twingo a été présentée à la presse le 6 octobre à la Porte de Versailles, 2 jours avant l&rsquo;ouverture au public du Mondial de l&rsquo;Automobile de 1992. Ce n&rsquo;est que 5 mois plus tard, en mars 1993, qu&rsquo;elle a été commercialisée en France. Eh oui, la Renault Twingo a déjà 30 ans. L&rsquo;occasion pour nous de mettre à jour les 10 articles que nous avions publié pour les 25 ans de son lancement, qui a eu lieu le 24 mars 1993.</em></p>



<p>La Twingo première du nom a quitté nos concessions européennes mi 2007, mais ce n’était pas la fin de l’histoire pour autant. Car, dans l’usine de Colombie qui l&rsquo;assemblait, sa carrière a continué jusqu&rsquo;en juin 2012 ! L&rsquo;occasion de revenir sur l&rsquo;histoire méconnue de la Grenouille en Amérique du Sud.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Une Renault Twingo internationale</h2>



<p>Comme vous le savez déjà, la Renault Twingo a principalement été fabriquée en l’usine de Flins, dans la banlieue Ouest de Paris, à proximité de la Seine. 2.075.986 exemplaires sont sortis de l&rsquo;usine française. Elle a aussi été produite à Valladolid en Espagne, à hauteur de 368.469 exemplaires. Mais ce n’est pas tout, puisqu&rsquo;en juin 1994, la production est lancée à Taiwan. Nous n’avons pas réussi à en avoir les chiffres de production mais c’est de cette usine que le Japon se fournissait en Renault Twingo.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p>En <a href="https://www.renault.com.uy" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Uruguay</a> aussi, la Renault Twingo a été fabriquée pendant 3 ans dès 1999 à l’usine Nordex, proche de Montevideo. Environ 30.000 exemplaires y ont été construits. La Renault Twingo y avait quelques spécificités, dont un volant inédit à 2 branches, et un vide-poche, quand il n’y avait pas d’airbags, la législation ne l&rsquo;exigeant pas à l&rsquo;époque. Et surtout, elle avait un moteur 1.0 l de 59 ch qui lui permettait d’avoir quelques avantages sur la fiscalité locale.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">La Colombie, 3ème usine de production de la Renault Twingo</h4>



<p>Avec 99.833 exemplaires produits dans l’usine de Medellín, la <a href="https://www.renault.com.co" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Colombie</a> complète le podium dans la production de la Renault Twingo. Ce qui fait <strong>plus de 2.580.000 Renault Twingo</strong> produites à travers le monde.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;Joli score, qui en fait l&rsquo;une des voitures au Losange les plus vendues de l&rsquo;histoire, après les Renault 4, Renault 5 et Supercinq, ou encore les Mégane et Clio.&nbsp;</span></p>

<p>Mais concentrons-nous sur la Colombie. C’est une voiture importante pour la marque dans ce pays, car elle a longtemps été dans le top 10 des ventes du pays. Elle a suivi le rythme des collections Européennes jusqu’en 2007. Et puis, elle a vécu sa vie ensuite, même si elle a semble-t-il connu moins d’évolutions après. Nous avons trouvé les photos d’un des derniers millésimes sur internet. Serait-ce la huitième et ultime collection de la Twingo ? On note quelques différences, notamment la sellerie, plus classique, a contrario des différentes commandes qui passent, elles, au&#8230; rose magenta!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Une Renault Twingo de Colombie un peu différente</h2>



<p>Mais ce n’est pas tout, et les détails que nous allons arborer sont très certainement propres à toutes les Twingo « made in Colombie ». On remarque que son hayon n’est pas équipé d’essuie-glace,Tout comme la plage arrière ne semble pas non plus de série sur les versions d&rsquo;entrée de gamme. Et on aperçoit même quelques modèle sans pré-équipement radio, ce qui se traduit par l’absence d’antenne. Dernier détail, sur les versions 16v, le sigle est sous le clignotant, et non pas au dessus comme les versions françaises.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Renault Twingo Tattoo, la der des ders</h2>



<p>Pour clore la carrière de la première génération de Twingo, Renault Colombie a décidé de lancer une série spéciale… un peu spéciale : la Renault Twingo Tattoo. L’originalité réside moins dans le nom que dans la façon de la créer. Renault Colombie a en effet lancé un concours pour la mettre au point !</p>



<p>La méthode était simple : télécharger un modèle de Twingo, et créer un motif sur « sa » Renault Twingo. Le vainqueur aura en récompense la conception du motif de la série Renault Twingo Tattoo. Mais surtout, le prix inclue le gain d&rsquo;une Renault Twingo Tattoo ! Le concours a eu lieu en mars 2012 via Facebook. Au total, 1.845 projets ont été proposés en 20 jours de compétition, parmi lesquels 30 ont été choisis par un jury de professionnels. De plus, 10 projets ont été choisis par le public.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>

<p>C’est un certain Gustavo Tovar qui a remporté le prix. Il était à l’époque étudiant aux Arts et Lettres de Bogotá. Le stickage était fait en après-vente, et seulement 900 exemplaires ont été produits en couleur gris «&nbsp;Diamond&nbsp;», mais les clients n’étaient pas obligés de prendre cette option. Combien de ces Twingo « Tovar » ont-elles réalisées ? Nous n’avons malheureusement pas cette information.</p>

<p>Cette série limitée était basée sur la version Access (climatisation, airbags, vitres électriques) en ajoutant le lecteur CD &amp; MP3 Alpine (ça ne s’invente pas!) et la plage arrière. Elle existait aussi sur l’Access+ avec les rétroviseurs électriques, le verrouillage central avec plip et la commande de l’autoradio par satellite.</p>
