<p>Les Citroën Jumpy et SpaceTourer, Peugeot Expert / Traveller, Opel Vivaro / Zafira Life, Toyota ProAce,  Fiat Scudo / Ulysse ou encore Iveco eJolly ont un nouveau cousin : le Ram ProMaster City ! Les plus connaisseurs savent sûrement que ce patronyme était naguère porté par un autre modèle européen, le <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_ProMaster_City" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fiat Doblo local</a>. Retiré du marché il y a 5 ans, le voici de retour. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ram ProMaster City : quand le rebadgeage est stratégique</h2>



<p>C&rsquo;est logique, puisqu&rsquo;au sein de FCA, et plus encore aujourd&rsquo;hui de Stellantis, la marque nord-américaine Ram <a href="https://lenouvelautomobiliste.fr/actualites/39903/ram-v700-city-le-fiat-fiorino-chilien/">dédiée en priorité aux véhicules utilitaires</a> complète sa gamme avec des vans. La gamme Ram ProMaster est ainsi dérivée du Fiat Ducato / Citroën Jumper / Peugeot Boxer, un autre modèle multi-rebadgé à travers le monde.  </p>



<p>La raison est simple : l&rsquo;union fait la force dans le « VU », un marché où les générations de véhicules se renouvellent moins souvent (l&rsquo;actuel Jumpy a déjà été lancé il y a 10 ans, en 2016 ; le Ducato actuel, il y a 20 ans !) et où la concurrence des prix est telle que la seule façon de réduire les coûts est de se réunir. Ainsi, chaque marque reprend le même modèle (notamment une fois les groupes fusionnés, c&rsquo;est ainsi que les modèles sur base Renault d&rsquo;Opel et Fiat sont passés sur base PSA) et chaque base de modèle se propose au plus grand nombre de marque possible. </p>

<p>D&rsquo;où des modèles badgés et vendus par Toyota (qui permettent de satisfaire les autorités européennes, qui ne voyaient pas d&rsquo;un bon oeil Stellantis contrôler plus de la moitié du marché VU du Vieux-Continent), Iveco (qui complète sa gamme électrique à moindre frais) et donc désormais, Ram. On peut donc le dire : la plateforme EMP2, sur laquelle est basée le Jumpy, va enfin pouvoir franchir l&rsquo;Atlantique et vendre aux Etats-Unis </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ram ProMaster City : conçu en Europe, fabriqué aux Etats-Unis&#8230; enfin presque</h2>



<p>Le 11 mars ont donc été transmises à la presse des visuels, fortement retouchés, des nouveaux véhicules Ram qui seront, en Amérique du Nord du moins, ses modèles les plus courts et citadins. Deux versions sont prévues : </p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>ProMaster City Tradesman, la version utilitaire</li>



<li>ProMaster City SLT, la version VP avec jusqu&rsquo;à 8 sièges.</li>
</ul>



<p>La production de ces deux modèles débute en septembre, avec une astuce : ils sont fabriqués dans l&rsquo;usine turque de Fiat Tofas, comme le Scudo/UIysse&#8230; mais seront transformés en utilitaire « Tradesman » seulement aux Etats-Unis, sur une ligne de production de Baltimore. Ainsi, Ram évite la « chicken tax » ! Ou de quoi risquer d&rsquo;être la tête de turc des autorités américaines&#8230; </p>

<p>Sous le capot officiera un modèle 4-cylindres turbo, produit aux Etats-Unis, disponible en 166 ch avec boîte EAT 8 Aisin, seulement en traction.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Objectif : conquérir le marché des fourgons urbains</h2>



<p>Avec ce nouveau modèle, Ram compte compléter sa gamme et offrir une solution aux propriétaires nostalgiques du précédent modèle sur base de Doblo. Pourtant, ce ne sera qu&rsquo;un modèle d&rsquo;appoint car la concurrence est absente et même Ford a cessé de proposer son Transit Connect, de taille équivalente, en Amérique du Nord. D&rsquo;ailleurs, seule la silhouette longue, « XL », sera proposée, ce qui rappelle que le concept de « fourgon urbain » aux Etats-Unis n&rsquo;obéit pas aux mêmes dimensions que leurs équivalents européens. L&rsquo;adaptation passe aussi par les optiques (sidemarkers avant et arrière) ainsi que l&rsquo;adoption de l&rsquo;identité visuelle Ram, dans les phares et les monogrammes.</p>

<p>De 2 à 8 places, une charge utile de près d&rsquo;une tonne et une capacité de remorquage de près d&rsquo;une tonne, mais avec une seule porte coulissante côté droit, le ProMaster cherche à répondre à un large panorama de choix et de besoins client. Il proposera en option les sièges chauffant, un rétroviseur avec caméra de recul, et des jantes 17 pouces alliance pour le van SLT&#8230;</p>



<p>Le t out pour un tarif promis en dessous des 40 000 dollars en entrée de gamme. Avant les taxes, enfin, ça dépend des jours !</p>

Alors que la production des Citroën Nemo et Peugeot Bipper a cessé en 2016, celle de leur cousin Fiat Fiorino continue et s&rsquo;est même enrichie en 2018 d&rsquo;un nouveau rejeton, uniquement vendu au Chili celui-ci : le Ram V700 City.</em></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ram V700 City : utilitaire italo-turco-chilien </h2>



<p>Silhouette bien connue de nos villes en Europe, le tout petit utilitaire Fiat Fiorino connaît une vie loin du Vieux-Continent, sur le marché chilien. Là-bas, Fiat le propose déjà sous son propre label (ainsi qu&rsquo;en VP Qubo) mais aussi dans la gamme Ram, afin que celle-ci couvre mieux tous les segments. Ainsi le Fiorino y devient le Ram V700 City !</p>

<p>Deux motorisations : 1,4 essence 73 ch ou le bien connu 1,3 Diesel Multijet de 75 ch. Le look est identique au Fiorino, au badge près. Les capacités sont identiques aussi : 2,5 m3 de volume, un peu plus de 600 kg de charge utile, deux portières battants s&rsquo;ouvrant à 180 degrés sans oublier la compacité record et imbattable (hors quadricycles) de 3,86 m/1,71 m/1,72 m (L/l/h).</p>

<p>Petit, il n&rsquo;en demeure pas moins doté du <a href="https://www.piamonte.cl/ram/v700-city/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">minimum vital</a> : double airbag, air conditionné, prise 12 volts, volant réglable en hauteur et ordinateur de bord. A l&rsquo;inverse de la Ford T seulement vendue en noire, le Ram V700 City n&rsquo;est vendu qu&rsquo;en blanc. Côté prix, il démarre <a href="https://ram.cl/vehiculos/v700-city/ram-v700-city-gasolina" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dans le réseau</a> à 8300 euros (enfin, 6.690.000 Pesos chiliens) hors-taxes. Quant au site de production, il est, comme le Fiat Fiorino, construit chez Tofaş en Turquie à Bursa. Pour sa première année commerciale, le Ram V700 City (que Tofaş appelle Ram Fiorino dans ses listings) a été assemblé à 1.131 exemplaires.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Une gamme Ram riche en&#8230; Fiat !</h2>



<p>Depuis 2009, Ram est devenue une marque autonome, séparée de Dodge bien qu&rsquo;en conservant le logo historique au bélier. Cette distinction, voulue lors du rachat de Chrysler par Fiat, a fait de Ram la marque du Groupe spécialisée dans les utilitaires. Cela recouvre les pick-up, le « Ram » historique, mais de curieux modèles ont vu le jour peu à peu. Ainsi du Ram ProMaster, un Fiat Ducato lancé en 2013 ; du ProMaster City, un Fiat Doblo rebadgé en 2015 ; du ProMaster Rapid, un Fiat Fiorino brésilien lancé en 2017. </p>

<p>Ce dernier côtoie au Brésil les Ram 1000 (un Fiat Toro), Ram 1200 (un Fiat Fullback, lui-même issu du Mitsubishi L200), tandis qu&rsquo;au Mexique, on peut trouver des Ram 700 (cette fois c&rsquo;est une base de Fiat Strada). </p>
