<p>Au sein de la gamme Jaguar, le coupé et le cabriolet F-TYPE commençaient à être anachroniques. Phares verticaux, calandre ovale, feux arrière dotés d&rsquo;une partie arrondie&#8230; bref, en décalage avec les codes stylistiques établis par le SUV électrique I-PACE, la berline XE restylée et autres consoeurs plus modernes. Qu&rsquo;à cela ne tienne ! </p>



<p>Vue de face, la F-Type semble gagner en largeur. Les phares sont désormais verticaux, à technologie Pixel LED (en option, de série sur R) et très fins et reçoivent une signature lumineuse simple, efficace, mais aussi plutôt impersonnelle. La calandre s&rsquo;élargit et atténue ses rondeurs. Le nouveau motif noir renforce sa présence déjà bien remarquée sur cet avant agressif. Elle est épaulée de chaque côté par des ouïes d&rsquo;aération de large dimension, aux cerclages généreux. Enfin sur le capot, les écopes évoluent et s&rsquo;associent aux nervures pour former un motif façon coquillage.</p>

<p>L&rsquo;offre est désormais constituée de 4-cylindres et de V8. Mais le choix est là ! Avec une puissance de 300 ch, le 2 litres fait office d&rsquo;entrée de gamme. Il est rejoint par un nouveau V8 de 450 ch disposant d&rsquo;un couple de 580 Nm disponible à 2 500 trs/min et assurant le 0 à 100 km/h en 4,6 sec. Ce moteur baptisé P450 fait l&rsquo;intermédiaire avec le V8 de 575 ch de la version R. Ce dernier promet des performances décoiffantes avec un couple de 700 Nm et un 0 à 100 km/h expédié en 3,7 secondes seulement. Ce moteur P575 est disponible uniquement en 4 roues motrices, contrairement au P450 qui pourra disposer, au choix, de la propulsion, cette transmission étant obligatoire sur le 4-cylindres de 300ch.</p>



<p>Pour faire passer toute cette puissance au sol en garantissant confort et bonne tenue de route Jaguar a revu amortisseurs adaptatifs (livrés avec le V8), ressorts, barres antiroulis&#8230; Bref, la Jaguar F-TYPE gagne en agilité. L&rsquo;expérience de conduite promet d&rsquo;être enthousiasmante, d&rsquo;autant que l&rsquo;échappement actif et de la partie pour flatter les oreilles du conducteur. Ce dernier propose un mode Quiet Start qui, comme sur la Ford Mustang, permet un démarrage plus discret pour ne pas réveiller les voisins pendant les virées nocturnes.</p>
