<p><em>Sur le stand Mazda du Salon de Tokyo trône une nouveauté importante pour la marque&nbsp;: son premier véhicule tout électrique, annoncé par un teasing il y a peu. Le MX-30, c’est son nom, s’est à peine dévoilé au Monde qu&rsquo;il est déjà disponible à la réservation. Avant d’aller signer le chèque de 1 000 € d’acompte, nous vous proposons de le découvrir avec nous.</em></p>



<p>Rendez-vous était pris le 24 octobre pour découvrir un nouveau modèle Mazda 100% électrique. Le constructeur japonais se voulait mystérieux et n’avait livré aucun détail sur le type de véhicule qui serait présenté. Le teasing révélait simplement l’ambiance à bord épurée et la présence d’une console centrale flottante. Sans fuite avant le reveal, c’est donc avec surprise que nous avons découvert un SUV coupé. Une demi-surprise disons-le, compte-tenu de la prolifération de véhicules surélevés ces derniers temps.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Mais il faut dire que Mazda a su se distinguer. D’abord sur le segment. Le profil affirme son côté SUV, réellement surélevé et agrémenté de protections en plastique sur les passages de roues, les bas de caisse et la partie inférieure des pare-chocs. À la manière d’un <a href="https://lenouvelautomobiliste.fr/essais/essai-mazda-cx-30-skyactiv-g-122ch-chainon-manquant/44844/">CX-30</a> dont il reprend les dimensions, à l&rsquo;exception de la hauteur (il est 5 cm plus bas). Mais sa silhouette est aussi celle d’un coupé, avec une ligne de toit très fuyante et surtout des portes arrière à ouverture antagonistes dépourvues de poignées extérieures.</p>

<p>Le MX-30 crée aussi la différence avec le reste de la gamme. Les découpes de vitres sont plus abruptes, les ailes plus droites, les épaules plus marquées et les lignes générales moins fluides.</p>



<p>À l’avant, l’absence de la large calandre chromée surprend. Elle est remplacée par une ouverture d’autant plus timide que la face du MX-30 est relativement imposante. Sans encadrement, elle se prolonge jusqu’aux phares, beaucoup moins effilés et agressifs que sur les modèles thermiques.</p>

<p>Même topo à l’arrière, où l’on reconnaît la signature lumineuse mais dans un traitement beaucoup plus simpliste et moins étiré. Les feux sont en deux parties, dont une cylindrique en relief, digne d’un concept car.</p>

<p>En somme, on gagne en originalité ce qu’on perd en harmonie, en grâce, en fluidité. Quelques nouveaux gimmicks font en effet leur apparition, comme les arches de toit façon aluminium qui se prolongent sur le hayon de coffre jusqu’à former une sorte de sourcil au-dessus des feux. Sur le montant arrière, un insert argenté prend place, gravé du nom Mazda.</p>

<p>À l’intérieur, le constat est identique à celui dressé sur la carrosserie. On peut donc souligner la cohérence de Mazda&nbsp;! L’ensemble parait plus rectiligne, avec cette fameuse console centrale qui accueille levier de vitesse et molette de l’interface multimédia. Les matériaux devraient être de bonne facture et nous notons l’apparition de touches originales comme une sorte de liège en bas de la console centrale.</p>

<p>C’est du côté technique qu’on l’attendait, et là où Mazda nous surprend le moins. Le MX-30 se dote d’une batterie de 35,5 kWh et un moteur développant 142 ch, quand une Renault Zoe propose une batterie de 52 kWh (avec moteur 110 ou 135 ch). L’autonomie est annoncée pour 210 km. Cela peut sembler peu pour un véhicule qui a un gabarit de routière, mais pour les plus gros rouleurs, Mazda proposera en option un prolongateur d’autonomie, un bloc monorotor de 0,6 l, qui permettra de rouler jusqu’à 420 km. La recharge se fera via une prise Type 2 de «&nbsp;seulement&nbsp;» 6,6 kW ou sur une borne rapide via la prose Combo CSS de 50 kW.</p>



<p>Le prix annoncé semble presque bon marché pour un SUV coupé aussi original, électrique de surcroit et, on l’espère, aussi bien construit et plaisant à conduire que les modèles thermiques de la gamme&nbsp;: 34 400 € hors bonus écologique&nbsp;!</p>
